Our mental health programme offers students a comprehensive perspective on mental health within the cultural context of the Caribbean. This immersive experience provides deep insights into the complexities of social service provision, granting access to institutions such as children’s homes, homeless shelters, juvenile rehabilitation centres, and special education schools.
Students will engage in meaningful work, including delivering presentations and creating educational materials on mental health for diverse audiences, from at-risk youth to mental health professionals.
Additionally, they will explore the third sector’s role in mental health services by working alongside forensic psychologists, interning with trauma- focused specialists, and volunteering with human rights-based organisations.
